The Monroe County Airport desires a highly qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Airport Manager / Operations position in Bloomington, Indiana. Bloomington is home to the world-famous Indiana University of the Big Ten Conference and hosts a plethora of dining, entertainment, and outdoor activities.

This position is responsible for oversight of the Airport’s FAA Part 139 program, ARFF, airfield operations, building, and airfield maintenance. The role reports directly to the Airport Director and supervises the Airport’s Operations & Maintenance Personnel. Cellphone, laptop, and vehicle provided.

Airport Manager

The Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities relating to construction, maintenance, and operation of airport facilities in accordance with state/federal governmental agencies and the Daviess County Board of Aviation Commissioners (BOAC) policies and regulations.


Managerial candidates must be able to perform the above described duties in a satisfactory manner. They must have the ability to analyze and effectively report upon operating conditions and problems, then recommend and install appropriate solutions. Candidates must be able to communicate orally in a confident and courteous manner with customers, airport users, and the public. Circumstances would include face-to-face and one-on-one settings, group settings, or by using electronic means. Applicants must be able to work cooperatively with federal and state regulatory employees and the public.

Candidates must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. They must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural guidelines. A successful candidate must have the general ability to read and comprehend engineer’s plan and specifications. They must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the BOAC, tenants, airport uses and the public.

Airport Manager

The Jasper County Airport Authority (JCAA) is seeking qualified applicants to serve full-time as the Airport Manager of Jasper County Airport (RZL), which is located equidistant between Chicago and Indianapolis at the doorstep of Northwest Indiana. The Airport Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, administration, and development of the Airport in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate will: (1) possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation/Airport Management, Public Administration, Business, or a closely-related field; (2) have prior experience in aviation/airport management and/or operations; (3) be a licensed pilot, flight or ground instructor; (4) be able to teach high school aviation curriculum; and (5) be familiar with FAA and INDOT policies and procedures pertaining to airport operations.
